Tyler and I are not big Halloween people AT ALL. (I don't even bother taking work off because I don't like celebrating) We don't enjoy dressing up or going to Halloween parties...our kind of fun on Halloween consists of playing games and eating, just like an ordinary game night. However, we heard about this Provo Halloween Cruise ride through "groupon," and we went last night. It was a lot of fun, and really cute. First you meet down by the ropes course off of the Provo river. Then they have men dressed up in Pirates and they entertain you while you ride down the river in a big boat. They have hundreds of carved pumpkins along the river, and Halloween lights, and it's just a really fun thing. It lasted about 20-30 minutes, which was perfect timing. If you get the chance to go you definitely should. We got the tickets half off, but I think they're only $6 or $7 per person anyway. Here's some pictures from our night (we went with Tyler's mom and husband, Shawn, and Michelle and Trevor)
The Group (our nickname was the "Heebie Creepies") The pirates who entertained us The scared boys, well... at least Trevor was scared
In the past 6 months, Gap (where I work) has gone through at least 3-5 store managers. I'm not sure why this is but I'm starting to think it's a reflection of the employees... I don't feel like we've done any wrong, but why, why, would we go through managers SO quickly. We had Andrea as our manager for, I believe 15 years, and she was fabulous. The store ran like a charm and everybody LOVED her. Since she left (sad day) the store has NOT been the same. It gets messy really easy, the back room always looks like a tornado went through it, and the list goes on. Anyway, I just wanted to let all of you shoppers out there know that if the store hasn't been running like you remember it way back when it's because we've had SO many different store managers. However, I've heard rumors of who the new store manager will be and I'm so happy! This lady is fabulous and from what I've seen, does a great job running a store. She's fun and she's great with people/customers...Hopefully the rumors are TRUE
I wrote about going up the Alpine loop a while ago but haven't had the chance to put the pictures up, so here they are! It was really fun to see all the leaves change color and it reminded me how much I LOVE fall. The weather is beautiful and the air is so crisp. I love it!
This last Wednesday we dropped Michael off at the MTC. It was really neat, and Michael seemed very ready. He's probably dying getting up at 6 am, but he'll get use to it! :)
Just a few of the things we've been up to lately...
I know this was a month ago, but Tyler and I celebrated our one year anniversary and went up to Park City for the weekend. We stayed at the Sundial Lodge and LOVED it. We relaxed, ate good food, shopped at the outlets, swam/laid out, enjoyed a concert from our hotel room, etc. It was a great weekend :) Even before our anniversary (the same week I think), we went to Yellowstone with Tyler's dad and 2 brothers. It was a great trip and kind of weird to be the only girl. The boys did not let that stop them from being "boys" though ;) They were all great and the trip was an overall blast! (and it was my first time to Yellowstone) About 2 weeks ago we went to the zoo with Michelle & Trevor (both their first times). We fell in love with the elephant, especially the baby. Michael was in town last week so we had Sunday dinner together We went up the Alpine Loop with Lisa & Shawn (newly empty nested) to see the leaves. They were SO pretty. I think fall is my favorite season :) (pictures to come...)
