First Presidency's Christmas Devotional

Yesterday, Tyler and I went with Tyler's brothers (Tanner and Jace) to the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional. I'll be honest, I was asleep up until President Monson spoke, and I am SO glad I was awake for it. I really enjoyed when he spoke because he used an example that everyone can relate too. His story did an excellent job at getting his point across. Afterward, we walked around temple square and looked at all the lights and watched the Nativity. It was really fun, but absolutely FREEZING! Here's some pictures from temple square...

Tyler's Birthday

Last Thursday (the 12th) was Tyler's birthday. We've kind of been celebrating it for the past 2 weeks, though, with all his family and friends. However, on Thursday, I surprised him and had the apartment decorated and bought some of his favorite snacks, which were right when he walked in .


I made him a cake, which turned out "ok," but it was kind of a disaster...

I also bought him a few presents, including a fishing pole, which he really wanted.

Later, we went to dinner at Iggy's and then to see "A Christmas Carol," which surprisingly wasn't that great...

We then went home and I sang "Happy Birthday," and he blew out his candles on his cake...

Also, on Friday, I surprised Tyler and we went to "Bravo Broadway," which was with the Utah symphony, and it was AMAZING. It was so entertaining, and fun. Tiersha and Josh went with us, and Tiersha has any of the pictures that we took that night. I would definitely recommend this show...so good!

A Wonderful Husband

Wednesday was October 21st...nothing too special about that date, right? Well, that's what I thought. However, my husband, who is too good at staying on top of things and too busy being amazing, bought me flowers and wrote me the sweetest note because it was our 2 month anniversary. I've never been huge in anniversaries, nor has Tyler. Even while we were dating, we never kept track of when our "anniversary" was, but that could've been because I didn't actually refer to him as my boyfriend until about 2 months after we had already been dating. But now, every month anniversary has been WONDERFUL, because Tyler always remembers and always writes me a note with a bouquet of flowers :) He is wonderful.
On Thursday, it was a beautiful day outside, probably 65 or 70 degrees and sunny, so we decided to go out and play tennis, just the two of us. I've been wanting to play forever, but we have never been able to find the time, and on Thursday we finally made time. We had a fun time screwing around because neither one of us is very good. Tyler, I could tell, was pretty sick of playing pretty quick off the bat, but being the wonderful man he is, kept playing with me for a good hour. Afterwards, we played with Tyler's new football, which he is absolutely in love with, which was very fun as well. I like to do outdoor activities (sports) instead of the gym whenever I can, b/c the workout is great, and definitely a lot more enjoyable.

We caved...

So, we finally got a blog...it's not like we've been married all that long, but almost everyone has told us that we NEED a blog.  We haven't been up to much lately, basically just school and occasionally doing something fun with friends or family.  Actually, there is something that Tyler and I get to do together every week, and that is co-ed basketball.  We're on a team with some kids I know from home, and if you ask me, I love it, and it's a lot of fun.  However, Tyler, and any guy for that matter, doesn't really enjoy co-ed basketball (at BYU) because they can hardly do anything on the court.  They're not allowed to catch rebounds in the key, they can't guard girls, they can't get within 5 feet of a girl, and there can only be 2 guys playing at a time.  It's a joke for guys, but for us girls it's quite the workout.  Our team is undefeated this season, which is really exciting, but the closest game we've had was a 30 point difference.  It would be nice for once in a while to play a team that actually has a decent team...maybe next game will be our lucky day...  I'm also on a flag football intramural team with a few girls from home and a few of their friends.  Our team name is "Violent Vengeance," and we all have matching purple shirts.  Our regular season just ended, and we're going to be starting post-season pretty soon.  As far as work goes for us, I'm still at the Gap, and I'm determined to keep my job forever, whereas Tyler is still searching for work, but hopefully something will come through here soon.  Anyways, that's all for now, and I'll try to update this as often as possible.
