The Latest

We've had a busy summer, especially the last 2 weeks. We met up with my family (and the Dunyon family) at Lake Powell, and I came home with my parents...I did a lot of fun things in CA...

Beach (twice)
Ruby's...yum!
Shopping, shopping, and more shopping
Amazing shoe deals at Target ($5 and $9)
Beach Fire Grill (Taco Tuesdays)
'Sno On The Go' snow cones (ice cream and all!)
Park with the babies
Played with the babies nonstop
Lillee's haircut (cutest thing ever)
William loving Tiersha more than anybody else
Fish funeral (Gracee/Gregory's fish died after 1 day)
Singing "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" at the fishes funeral
Pioneer day with Mission Stake
Nerts (over and over again)
Hanging w/Nicole & Chris
Spending lots of time with Tiersha

It was a great week with AMAZING weather. I had a lot of fun, but missed my dear husband. It's good to be home and especially good to be with Tyler again :)

(Sean & Jaimie with Gracee & Gregory)(Me and Annie in the 3-legged race; we definitely didn't win)(Me with Lillee and her crazy hair)
(Lillee & Gregory during one of Gregory's treatment)
(Lillee, post-haircut)
When I came back from CA I returned to school (boo) only to find that my class had written ten words to describe each person. This was the list I came back to...

All the hard work paid off...

(The night before the race)
I finished the triathlon! I'm not really one to focus on times when it comes to competing, but I did want to finish...without a doubt! I didn't think I would enjoy the race, but being alone for the majority (the bike and run) of the race really helped me have a positive experience. Nobody was pushing me to go faster, I wasn't holding anybody back, and most importantly, I had nobody to complain to. I stayed in a fairly good mood the entire race and was extremely happy that I finished. I liked it so much I may even consider doing it again :)

Details of the race:
Spudman Triathlon
Burley, Idaho
Olympic Triathlon-1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6 mile run

Things that happened during the race...
-Tyler was given a size "small" wetsuit..3 minutes before his wave started, him and I switched wetsuits since mine was slightly too large; Tyler looked hilarious standing in his white, see-through spandex, it was great.
-The Snake River has a very strong current. So much so that I didn't even have to swim! It was great, I floated about 80% of the way :)
-I finished the race 5th in the family (Lisa, Shawn and Derek were behind me) and the announcer was hysterical. I ran in pretty much alone, nobody in front or behind me... he kept saying, "Finish strong, we've got water waiting for you, Tahnee, we'll take care of you, finish with a smile!" It was a great way to finish a long race!

(Right after I crossed the finish line!)

Some Lost Photos

I came across these pictures today and didn't even know they existed. Tyler, Tanner, and I went with Jace to Rexburg back in March (and froze our butts off!), and it was really fun to see where Jace had been living all year. There's also a picture of when Jace opened his mission call (not sure which month...April maybe?). Some of you knew I did inner-tube water polo so there are some pictures of that, as well as my 22nd birthday (and everyone who attended), and one of Tyler snowboarding. And last but not least, (and I can't believe I forgot this!) Tanner and Allie's wedding. Some good memories that I completely forgot to blog!

Golfing

Lately, Tyler and I have been practicing our golfing and have had a lot of fun doing it. Neither of us are great, but we are getting much better! We've gone a few times with Tyler's family and Shawn (Ty's stepdad) has been super helpful with our swings and amazingly patient with our 10 hits (sometimes more) per hole. I'm learning to really enjoy the sport, but for now 9 holes is all I can handle (that's too many sometimes). Any excuse to be outdoors in nice weather sounds great to me :) Here are some pictures from this past Friday when Tyler and I went to East Bay Golf Course and did the executive course (only 7 holes...perfect!).

Colorado

Last week we went to Fort Collins to visit Tyler's cousins. They just moved there a couple months ago and have a beautiful house and live by so many cool things. There are bike/running trails right by their house, really cool hikes near by, and it's gorgeous. Anyway, we had a blast being there (besides a crash I had on my bike...sad day) and hope to return soon (just not with 8 adults in one car). I learned a few things while on this road-trip...1) I need my personal space (badly) 2) I need alone time and 3) I don't like road-trips if the car is at it's maximum capacity. I get far too frustrated with myself and the rest of the people in the car (and it's nobody's fault except for mine!)...it's not good. Anywho, here are some pictures from the trip.
On the bike trail

Me and Mason
Mason and Camille (Heather and I took them on a shorter hike while everybody else did a longer hike)At the pool...Tyler and Ethan (he'll be in 5th grade, exactly what I'll be teaching this fall!)This is what my leg looked like the majority of the trip...I don't have too many pictures b/c I had to skip out on some activities :(
