The Testament

Sooo, as you can see from a few posts down, I read The Associate by John Grisham. I was pretty disappointed by this book, but was willing to give Grisham another chance by reading another book of his, The Testament. I just finished it a few days ago, and I LOVED it. The story was great and it actually had an ending, unlike all the other books written by Grisham. I highly recommend it, and hope everybody else enjoys it as much as I did!

Happy Father's day to some incredible dads, one who has been in my life forever, and some who have recently entered the family!

Summer....Finally!!

I cannot tell you how happy I am that it's summer! I love that it's warm outside and I have zero classes (for the time being) to worry about. It's great to come home, relax with Tyler, and not think once about what's due the next day for school. I also love that I can finally be tan. I'm not very tan yet, but I'm working on it. We've got 7 Peaks passes so we'll be there soaking up the sun as much as possible. One of the other great things about summer is that we're able to hang out with friends a lot more than during the school year. Just this last Thursday we had Tiersha & Josh, Kent & Whitney, and Michelle & Trevor over for the Lakers game, and let me just say that the game was fantastic! We had tons of pizza and just enjoyed each others company. However, a few people were not too thrilled about the end result of the game...aka Tyler and Josh.

Last night we hung out with Michelle and Trevor again and did a BBQ up the canyon (right off the Provo river). It was beautiful outside! We got up there around 7 and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. We put together skewers with steak, chicken, peppers, onions, and pineapple. It was probably the most delicious meal Tyler and I have had in a while. However, we did all eat A LOT. There were 4 steaks and 3 (large) chicken breasts, and by the end of the night, they were gone, all of them! After eating, we went up to Bridal Veil falls and just walked around for a while and enjoyed the scenery. We're trying to take advantage of nature while we're here since we'll probably only be here for 2 more years. Here's some pictures up at Bridal Veil falls...


P.S. We didn't match on purpose. I've come to the conclusion that when you're married you naturally just match all the time.

The Farm!

While we were home for the wedding, we took Gracee and Gregory to the farm for Gracee's school field trip. It was quite an adventure with those two, but we had a lot of fun. Gracee, we learned, is such a poser and loves her picture to be taken! Gregory, you can tell, has been trained by my mom and will smile anytime a camera is pointed at him. It's just hard to get that kid to hold still! Anyway, I finally downloaded the pictures from the farm so I thought I'd put them up so all can see the adorable Gracee and Gregory. Side note, it was REALLY windy that day so if in some of the pictures our hair is all over the place, that is why.






Gregory loved the pigs! I'm pretty sure he wasn't suppose to climb on the fence, but he was happy so what the heck!

Latest Happenings

I know I'm a little behind, but I wanted to post about mine and Tyler's latest adventure. Back in April, we went home for Tiersha's wedding, which was great. Tiersha and Josh both looked so happy and very much IN LOVE. The day after the wedding, Tyler and I flew to Ecuador, which is where Tyler served his mission. We were there for almost 2 full weeks. Ecuador was quite the adventure! It's totally different from the United States in almost every way. People like to stand REALLY close to you in Ecuador, and in the US we believe in something called, "personal space." I was definitely craving personal space the entire time we were there. Also, there is no flushing toilet paper in toilets ANYWHERE. It's so weird, but surprisingly bathrooms didn't smell that bad. However, it was extremely hard to come across a bathroom. You can't just go into a restaurant like you can here, because they don't have any! I don't understand what the women of Ecuador do... Anyway, one of the places we visited that I loved was called Otovalo. It's a really cute, quaint town, and is very touristy so I never felt in danger. It's also beautiful... the scenery is amazing and the weather was great. The best thing about this town though is their shopping. They have a HUGE marketplace where they sell everything you can think of, and its CHEAP. We got real wool blankets and jackets for $10 a piece, and they're really cool looking. We also got plenty of jewelry for $1 a piece, and lots of other cool things. I just went to town! Tyler was great, he didn't try and stop me from buying anything. However, it's hard not to buy everything b.c it's so cheap. One other purchase that I'm really happy about is my leather jacket. We didn't get it in Otovalo, but in another place where they have an entire street that just sells leather. I got a suede leather jacket for $50, I couldn't believe it. It's my first leather jacket and I'm in love. Tyler really sold me on it, and I'm glad I listened! The last place in Ecuador we went was Guayaquil, which is the coast, which is where the temple is. We stayed at the temple hotel and even though there were only buckbeds, for $8 a night, we couldn't have gone wrong. We were able to see Tyler's mission president and a couple of his mission companions. They were all such nice people and it was so cool to see Tyler speak spanish with them. Tyler is so much more animated and dramatic in spanish, I LOVE it! After Ecuador, we flew back to CA and babysat the little munchkins (yes, all 4 of them) for a couple days and then went to Disneyland (one of mine and Tyler's favorite places) on our last day! We then flew home and got back to reality... sad day.
