Last weekend

This past weekend was a relaxing, fun weekend, but it definitely went by TOO fast.  Starting with Thursday...my dad came into town, took me to dinner (Outback), and then we went to the Gilbert Temple Open House (Tyler had to study :( ).  I love that my dad has to come to AZ for work every so often.  I love that I get to see him, even if it's just for a couple of hours every couple of months.  It was so fun to catch up, and have just a daddy-daughter date (and, I even got to wear my 4 or 5 inch heels!).

On Friday, I got visitors in my class!  Tyler and 4 of his classmates/friends did a presentation all about dental hygiene.  The kids moved around from station to station, and then at the end they took questions & passed out little goodie bags for all of them (water bottles, toothbrushes, etc..)  The kids loved it.
(Chris & Ryan getting "flossed")
Friday night, Tyler and I were scheduled to work at the temple.  We were both assigned "shoe covering," or as I like to call it, "booty duty," but Tyler got moved to parking about an hour into it.   For about 3 hours, I unbundled shoe coverings.  The shoe coverings came in packs of 10, and were tightly wound up, so my (and several other people) job was to unbundle, and make sure that the people putting the shoe coverings on, were well stocked at all times.  It really wasn't bad, and I got to meet a few new people in our stake, who I really enjoyed talking with.

2 of my laurels worked with me in shoe coverings (Paige & Emily)
Saturday, we had a day of cleaning, running errands, and just hanging out.  We watched the documentary, "Mitt," but I fell asleep about halfway into it.  From what I saw, it was really good, and makes me sad that we have such an unqualified man as our president now.

Sunday was the Super Bowl, and even though I'm not a die-hard fan, it was still a good excuse to get together with friends and have a lot of food...and when I say a lot, I mean a LOT.  I was feeling crafty after church (and we're done at 11am), so I made a Super Bowl banner, and printed out "Super Bowl Trivia" pages for everybody.  It was a good time, other than the fact that the Broncos got destroyed!

The rest of Utah

We didn't have much planned after New Year's, so we did a lot of just hanging around.  We were able to see a lot of friends, a lot of movies (Walter Mitty, Saving Mr. Banks, The Hobbit-twice, & Frozen), and I even managed to gain a few pounds from eating so much, and not working out ;)  It was all worth it, with all the delicious food we ate.  We were also able to attend the temple as a family, have some girl time (getting pedicures), and celebrate Paul's birthday.

Dropping Jace off at the airport before we went to the temple...excited we get to see him soon!
Playing games with these guys (who need to come to AZ to visit soon!)
We also met up at "Waffle Luv" with Tom, Caity, & their girls for breakfast/lunch.  Tyler wasn't a fan (he says it's too sugary), but I loved it... probably wouldn't do an entire one for myself (too filling and expensive!), but it was still good!
 At Blinkenstaffs (toy store)
Our drive home.  It was so fun to be in UT with family for a couple of weeks, but we were both ready to make the trek back home, and get into our routine again.  We're hoping we get to see our family sooner rather than later! :)

New Years Eve

For New Year's Eve, we decided to go down to Provo Towne Center's party that they hold every year.  Once we got there, we realized it was more for little kids, but we stayed a while, and made the best of it.  First off, an eating contest.  None of the boys won this particular contest (sandwich), but Allie did win the ice cream eating contest afterwards.
After the eating contests, we tried giant Jenga, and Pick up Sticks.
After we had had enough of the party at the mall, we went back to the house and played games (can't remember what it was called, but it was basically Gestures, but backwards...3 people act something out while 1 person guesses).  We played boys vs girls, and sadly, the boys won.
Toasted the new year with some Martinelli's.

Spending the day with Gracee & Gregory

One of the days when we were in UT, we spent the majority of the day with Gracee & Gregory.  They are quite the hoot, especially Gregory.  We started with lunch at Pizza Pie Cafe, then headed off to do some shopping at the outlets, and ended with exploring Cabellas.
Gregory wanted every hat he tried on in the store

Christmas with Tyler's dad

We did Christmas with Tyler's dad on the 28th.  We went up to SLC, opened gifts, ate lunch together, visited the Asian Market, and took family pictures (yep, again! :).

Jace loves his sisters ;)
